Geography & Environment is one of the subjects of Dhaka College from very beginning of this College. At the early stage the subject was introduced in Intermediate and Degree level. The department introduced three year Honors and one year Masters course from 1994-1995 academic session under Dhaka University. In 1997 Honors in Geography & Environment of Dhaka College came under the authority of National University. Masters course had been started from 1997-1998 session. At present there are 180 seats for the enrollment in Honors first year and 150 seats for Masters course. The department comprises twelve devoted teachers, two employees and more then 650 students. Obtaining degrees many students from this department have been serving in different levels of the country. Many renowned teachers including Prof. M.I. Chowdhury, Prof. Kamal Uddin, Prof. Altafunnesa Maya taught Geography in this department.
